Welcome to the website of Faughart Parish, a catholic community located in north County Louth, Ireland, within the archdiocese of Armagh. Our parish is located within the “St. Brigid” pastoral area of the archdiocese along with our sister parishes of Forkhill (Mullaghbawn) and Dromintee.

Our parish church is dedicated to St. Brigid and located in the townland of Kilcurry, approximately 5km north west of Dundalk in Co. Louth. The church was built in 1896 replacing the church of St. Patrick which was located close to the current site.

Church of the Most Holy Rosary – Brid a Crinn

The church of the Holy Rosary is located in the townland of Killin. The church was constructed in 1850 and serves the western portion of our parish. Brid A Crinn church is located at Eircode A91 W308

St. Joseph’s church – Castletown

The church of St. Joseph is located in Castletown, within the environs of the urban area of Dundalk, Co. Louth. The church was built in 1996, replacing an older church on an adjacent site and serves the Castletown, Fatima and Toberona areas of Dundalk. St Joseph’s church is located at Eircode A91 EK77.

St. Brigid’s Shrine – Faughart

St Brigid’s shrine is located in the townland of Monascriebe, Faughart and close to the Co. Armagh border. St Brigid is reputed to have been born close to Faughart. St Brigid’s shrine is a place of national pilgrimage all year round. The annual pilgrimage to St. Brigid takes place at the shrine on the first Sunday of July.
