NEXT WEDNESDAY “Ash Wednesday” we begin the Holy season of Lent. Lent is the
season in which we are invited to explore and discover what it means to be “Holy”. We are
called to be holy whatever state of life. The ashes on our forehead are our pilgrim badge
marking us as penitents. It is a time for all of us to do something extra: Fasting, Prayer,
Almsgiving, self-denial, coming to weekday Mass. We will have extra Masses in Kilcurry
Church on Monday and Thursday at 9.00am. We will also have the Stations of the Cross at the
Shrine at 5.00pm each Sunday during Lent.
Mass times on Ash Wednesday: Fatima 10.00am. Kilurry 11.00am. and Brid-a-crinn 7.30pm.
It is also a day of Fast and Abstinence (no meat).
Lenten Prayer Group : will meet on Thursdays during Lent from 7.00pm – 8.00pm in St.
Joseph’s Fatima. All are welcome to come along
WELCOME into our Christian Community: Zoey Amelia Coburn, Jordan James McCann,
Thomas Corry who were baptised last weekend.
CONGRATULATIONS to David Kettle and Louise Byrne who were married during the
week.
TROCAIRE BOXES are now available in all Churches. Please take one home.
MASS for Lent in Kilcurry on Monday and Thursday at 9.00am.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING: Wednesday night at 8.00pm to organise the
Parish Breakfast Morning .
ENVELOPES AND QUIZIONNAIRE: As you know envelopes are being distributed at
present and we encourage you all to use them. Please fill in the quizionnaire and leave it in the
Churches. We thank those who distributed the envelopes
FAUGHART SOCIAL GROUP: Details of Trip to Knock Shrine in April. Legal advice at
7.30pm. Monday 4th.March. Monday 11th March Charades at 7.30pm.
IRISH DANCING CLASSES: Thursdays from5pm until 6pm. All welcome.
YOGA CLASSES – On Wednesday evenings 7pm to 8.15pm Friday mornings at the new time
of 9am. to 10.15am. if you have dropped the kids to school join us for our class
SOCIAL DANCING in the Resource Centre on Saturday, 9th March dancing to Michael
Mawhinney from 9pm to 12 midnight. Supper will be served. All welcome
CRAFT GROUP: Tuesday nights 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Everybody welcome to join us for
crafting ,cuppa and a chat.
FRENCH CLASSES with native Speaker: Leaving certificate French workshops: 6pm – 7pm
Tuesdays/Fridays. If you want to learn French for your holidays or other reason:
Beginnner class Tuesday/Friday 11am – 12noon and Tuesday/Friday 7.15pm – 8.15pm.
Children’s French class 9-13 yrs Tuesday 5.30 – 6.30pm. Intermediate class Tuesday/Friday
